CIEL Symposium

Hey Everyone,

So, last night I was talking to my friend Meghan, who is in charge of a group called "Press", which is another student run collective/group at Evergreen. They also received an email from Rita asking if they would like to attend the symposium in Bellingham for Collaborative Innovative Experimental Learning. She told me that we should go talk to Rita. So today Kim and I went and talked to Rita about the details of this invitation and she was really excited that we wanted to be involved. Groups from all over the country are going to be there giving presentations/performances/etc. of what they are all about. This is a really awesome opportunity for us to get our name and work out there. Evergreen has funding for four of us to go, Kim, Kate, and I are signed up. We are all 3D artists and I think the fourth to attend should be a 2D artist. This entails 3 or 4 days in Bellingham the 2nd week of next quarter, a speech/presentation about your work, and work to be displayed at the symposium.

We are now a part of Collaborative Innovative Experimental Learning which means that any of us during our time at Evergreen have the opportunity to attend any of the other universities involved across the country (including their study abroad programs) for up to ONE YEAR, while paying tuition at Evergreen!!!! How fucking cool is that?! This is a big deal guys... we deserve this. There is even a program in Africa!!!!

So, if you have any desires/questions Kim and I are going to be in touch with the directors of this years symposium. Or if you have a question about the details.. or anything, just ask. I am sure I am leaving something out, but we will keep you posted.

We are Rockin!!!
