Let's meet this Thursday @ 12 in theThird floor of the Library by the Stained Glass. This is for finalizing the reading list and covenant. It will be short. But please try and come! we need to make decisions with everyone present. Also Please e-mail your faculty and ask them what day they are available for critiqes.

Notes on Dinner Meeting, December 5, 2007

Reading:
Each week group readings will be about 60 pages a week

Each week, one person will be picked to facilitate the readings. This person will mediate the readings (make sure we stay on track) and will also compile a selection of images to illustrate the themes of the readings. (this can be informal, if we are reading about a specific artist, just have some images available of their work)

Books to be read cover to cover:

The Poetics of Space, Gaston Bachelard- Read one chapter a week
Art and Artifact, James Putnam- One chapter a week, (first week read the intro too, last week, read the epilogue too)
Art Objects, Jeanette Winterson- Seminar on Parts 1 +2 of the book week 6, Seminar on section 3 week 7


Selected Excerpts: (this is an unofficial list) Excerpts will be spread out throughout the 10 weeks in order to achieve 60 page quota and to smarten ourselves

Schedule-
Monday: Seminar
Wednesday/Friday rotating: Critique (plan on three hours)
Thursday evening: Art Event Sexiness! (art show, first Thursdays, film viewing, presentations, etc)

Critique: If there is any pertinent information that people should know/read, bring texts/info on the Monday of your critique to share with people. Or post it on the blog.

Things to be put in our group Covenant:
-Every person must attend critique
-Plan on culminating Group show
-When the group gets together to plan for a meeting, majority rules, even if not everyone is there. We gots ta get shit done yo.
